Optometric Assistant / Technician- Full Time Permanent

​

Tofield Eyecare is looking for a FULL time (28-34 hours per week) optometric assistant to join our team! We are hoping this person would become lead ophthalmic technician at our office and be a long term valued team member.

Position start date: January / February 2024

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about helping people, detail oriented, able to multitask and work in a fast paced environment.

​

Duties will include assisting the doctor with seeing patients, scheduling patients, checking patient insurance and answering phones.

 

The main role of the Optometric Assistant would be to take on all duties related to assisting doctors with patients. Some duties would include using devices to help measure eye shape and eye health, measuring patients glasses, taking complete case history, visual acuity, intraocular pressure as well as lots of other fun tests!  This person would also make sure all information is entered into the EMR system accurately.

 

​​Customer service experience (and eyecare experience) is a huge asset but we will train the right person.  This job requires you to both sit and stand throughout the day as you will assist patients when they move between the various rooms during their visit to our office. 

​

Hours are roughly Mondays 11-4, Tuesdays 10-5, Wednesdays 10-7, Thursdays 10-5 and Fridays 9-3. We would also need some help on one Saturday a month from 9-1 :).

​
